A youth was killed when a motorbike collided with a train traveling from Colombo to Jaffna. Our correspondent in the area said the accident took place opposite to the Chavakachcheri Hospital last afternoon (Feb 1).
The deceased was a 27-year-old resident of Naavatkuliya, Jaffna. Police state the deceased rode the motorbike across the railway crossing while the railway gate signals were functioning.
