A serial killer who raped the corpses of his victims has detailed how he carried out his vicious attacks. Bakhtiyor Matyakubov, 46, was given two life sentences for killing seven women in Russia and Ukraine. The man - whose nickname is 'maniac in white gloves' because he wore them to kill women in Moscow - also faces a trial for three more killings in his native Uzbekistan.
On one occasion, the father-of-one, who has already been jailed twice for robbery, claimed he killed one of his victims because 'she did not look kindly at me'. In another case the murderer merely wanted to have a taste of what it feels like to kill someone with one stab only. All the murders for which he is convicted or suspected took place in a 13-week spree as he flew between three countries, courts were told. In one case he is alleged to have killed two women in separate attacks in a single day.
His final victim was Yulia Lebezhina, 26, a sex shop saleswoman in Moscow who he stabbed 20 times before stealing an artificial vagina toy.
'It was my birthday and I wanted to please myself,' he told his interrogators. In a sickening testimony, he said: 'I had never been to such places before. 'A normal girl would not work in a sex shop. 'I decided to punish this immoral madam. 'Then for a long time, I regretted killing her.
She even came to me in my dreams. She was a beautiful girl.' A Russian court this week found the construction site worker guilty of five murders - the first of which was triggered by him finding out on New Year's Day 2015 that his Moscow lover had another man, he claimed.
'I understood the meaning of the phrase "the earth moved under my feet". 'I was extremely angry, ready to tear her to pieces. She felt it and fled.' Matyakubov tracked her to a railway station where he saw her talking to a man, he claimed.
Realising he would be caught if he attacked her, he instead hunted another random woman to kill in revenge, he said.
