Las Vegas police are sharing new details regarding a recent in-custody death at Clark County Detention Center.
Police say 36-year-old Nicholas Farah was arrested for trespassing at the La Quinta Inn near Valley View Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue on March 31.
A manager at La Quinta told police that Farah was acting strangely, repeatedly calling for cabs but then refusing their services after their arrival.
Officers arrested Farah for trespassing on the property. Police say Farah became agitated in the patrol car and tried to resist arrest.
Officers say when they arrived at CCDC they requested cameras in the jail and a restraint chair because Farah was being uncooperative.
While trying to switch his handcuffs and get Farah in the contraint chair, police say Farah appeared to stop breathing. Medical personnel at the scene responded and began to provide medical aide.
Farah was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
