Actual Recording Of WW1 Gas Attack

A British recording made by William Gaisberg & William Sinkler Darby in Lile in 1918, the gas bombardment was more like mortar fire using canisters propelled by compressed air, thats what makes the wheezing sound) the canisters would have several chemical compounds in seperate chambers that would mix on impact producing the gas.The bang heard is an explosive blasting the cap of the compressed air chamber and shooting it out of the mortar tube
